MY CYCLING MEMORIES

Hi, I'm TIFFANY TAO!

Hi, I’m Tiffany—an American Shorthair with more attitude than nine lives. I was born on March 8, 2025, which officially makes me younger, cuter, and (obviously) more photogenic than Bobby. He calls this his cycling and photography blog, but let’s be honest: I’m the main attraction. While he wakes up at 4:30 a.m. to pedal into the cold, I’m perfecting the fine art of sleeping, stretching, and looking majestic for the camera.

Whenever you see bike rides, seaside views, or stories about “training,” remember: I was behind the scenes, supervising with my paws tucked neatly under me, silently judging and occasionally demanding snacks. This is The Story of Bobby… but told under the watchful eyes of Tiffany, the American Shorthair CEO of this household.

Music?

Strings & Keys

Music has always been the other road I travel—sometimes with six strings, sometimes with 88 keys. I grew up with the sound of Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 (BWV 1007) (have to be Starker's version) filling our home, my father’s favorite piece and one I now play on guitar. It’s more than just music to me—it’s a thread that connects childhood memories, family, and the joy of creating sound with my own hands. Whether I’m plucking Bach, improvising on the piano, or just getting lost in melodies, this page is where I share the part of my story that pedals can’t tell.

Photography & Documentary

IMG_7780_edited.png

Cycling gave me the road, but photography gave me the lens to see it differently. I started by snapping the little details—sunlight bouncing off a wheel rim, reflections in puddles, the blur of motion on quiet streets. Over time, those snapshots grew into something bigger: a way to tell stories of the places I ride through.

My biggest project so far is “Two Cities, Two Wheels,” a bilingual documentary filmed between Shanghai and London. Shanghai is where I grew up, where skyscrapers rise above buzzing bike lanes and the city’s rhythm is fast, bright, and unstoppable. London, on the other hand, is where I learned how cycling can reshape daily life—where old cobbled streets meet modern bike lanes, and where history collides with change.

Through both cities, my camera chases not just the movement of bicycles, but the way people connect with their environment: commuters, weekend riders, kids wobbling on first bikes, strangers who become companions on long rides. My photos and film are less about the perfect shot and more about capturing the feeling of being on the road—freedom, struggle, community, and discovery.

This page is where I collect those frames and stories: sometimes still, sometimes moving, always in motion.

The Road Never Ends. Neither Do the Stories.
